President Biden had delivered a powerful speech in the wake of the Buffalo mass shooting and the death of ten people.
On Saturday, 18-year-old white supremacist Payton Gendron pulled up outside Buffalo’s Tops Friendly Grocery and began shooting people. It has since been confirmed that ten people were killed in the mass shooting, making it the deadliest mass shooting in the States this year.
President Biden has since spoken out and called on fellow Americans to help eradicate the hate that has stained the country.
“A lone gunman, armed with weapons of war and a hate-filled soul shot and killed 10 innocent people in cold blood in a grocery store Saturday afternoon,” Biden said at the 41st Annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service.
He also reassured the people that the shooting is being investigated by the Justice Department as he called on people to act now.
“We must all work together to address the hate that remains a stain on the soul of America,” he added.
The president went on to pay a tribute to law enforcement as he claimed “being a cop today is a heck of a lot harder than it’s ever been.”
During his speech outside the Capitol, Biden also appeared to go against far-left’s calls for defunding the police as he suggested more funding is needed across the nation.
“We should agree, it’s not to defund the police, it’s to fund the police,” he added, drawing cheers from the crowd.
“Fund them with the resources, the training they need to protect our communities and themselves and restore trust on the police and the people.”
