A pregnant mother has been killed while she was sitting in her car in a park in Florida.
Kaylin Fiengo, 18, was found dead with an ‘apparent gunshot wound’ in Coastline Park in Sanford. It was an officer patrolling the area who found her body when he noticed the car, which seemed to be running.
According to police, the mother-of-one was at the park ‘with the intent to meet a person known to her.’
Police also said that the circumstances surrounding the mother’s death are still under investigation but “it does appear that this is an isolated incident.”
Chief Cecil Smith also said that “the senselessness of this type of violence is infuriating,” adding that the victim “was a young mother who had her whole life ahead of her.”
“This violence and destruction won’t be tolerated in our community,” he added.
Fiengo’s son Ace was staying with his father when the shooting incident happened, Wesh reported.
“I am confident that our residents will work with us to find the person responsible for Kaylin’s death.”
Grieving family and friends took to social media to pay tribute to the teen who had been 12 weeks pregnant when she was killed.
Fiengo’s aunt wrote: “My heart is just absolutely broken into a million pieces right now! Than the anger I’m feeling is unimaginable!
“Last night my beautiful ,young, intelligent niece was murdered in cold blood! Kaylin Fiengo a mother, a daughter, granddaughter, sister, a niece was taken from us by a complete coward – a waste of human flesh well not even human!!!”
Fiengo’s mother pleaded with members of the public with any information on the incident to come forward.
“They didn’t just murder some random teenager. They murdered a daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and mother.”
