A preemie baby declared dead by a doctor was found to be alive by a funeral director who noticed the child’s heartbeat.
According to reports, the baby’s 18-year-old mother who was not aware of her pregnancy sought medical assistance in the municipality of Ariquemes in Rondonia, Brazil, on December 27.
The teen visited the hospital two times after experiencing agonizing pain but medics sent her back home on both occasions as they also did not notice that she was pregnant.
While she was at home, the severe pain then started to increase and she delivered her child without medical assistance.
According to reports, her baby was born in the fifth month of pregnancy and was declared dead by doctors when they rushed to the hospital.
A funeral director was then called to take the child’s body from the hospital and prepare it for burial.
But while he was performing procedures for the funeral, he saw the baby sigh and noticed that the beating of its heart.
He quickly rushed the baby to the hospital where the child was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
This comes after a newborn baby girl was found in a forest with insects crawling all over her body. ,
Reports said that she had been alone for two days and was abandoned with bruises and grazes.
She was found lying on banana leaf plants by villagers who wiped her body and face and ensured that she was not hurt.
The baby started crying and was laid out on the ground while they waited for ambulance and police to arrive.
