British Airways has confirmed the death of one of its pilots, just moments before he was scheduled to fly a packed flight from Cairo, Egypt to London, United Kingdom.

The incident was described as awfully tragic and heartbreaking. He was believed to have suffered from a heart attack while he was inside his hotel room in Cairo.

The pilot was reportedly working for British Airways and his sudden death has sparked shock and disbelief among crew members who have been working by his side for so long.

Moreover, the company says that the pilot’s loved ones have also been informed about the tragedy and they are just numb with grief.

British Airways has also gone on to mention how they would be sending an aircraft to help bring his body back from Egypt to his home country of Britain soon. And for that, all arrangements are being made at the nearest date.

The flight that he was supposed to be flying was scheduled for the same day of his death at Heathrow International Airport but little did anyone know that he would not be alive for the task.

Other reports mentioned how the pilot had made his way from the hotel room to the foyer and that is where his colleagues noted that something was really wrong. They all began to unite and perform CPR. But it was in vain.

Just a few short moments later, he is believed to have passed away.
