Think along the lines of getting abruptly fired without any warning given beforehand. And if that wasn’t enough, the regret of not shutting off your mic is also another point that’s worth a mention.
“All I asked my wife was her thoughts on black people getting more privileges in a nation like Africa”- and while he may not have seen the wrong in his behavior, others definitely did because his mic was on during the entire zoom session.
While some lose their job, this man and his wife have lost their future and they couldn’t feel more regretful about the ordeal.
The man who many called Mr. Northhampton says his life changed in the blink of an eye, only because of his one mistake.
The couple is literally surviving off of nothing and their example has been a reminder for others that be careful about what you say and don’t ever take technology for granted.
In his case, it was the managers who heard him out and then chose to fire him unanimously.
