Hollywood’s famed actress Olivia Newton-John has reportedly died at the age of 73.
The tragic news was confirmed by her husband recently who spoke about his wife’s long battle with breast cancer and how it had come to an end.
The celeb is known to have passed away at her residence in Southern California recently in a peaceful manner, sources revealed. The star’s close loved ones are said to have been by her side during that time.
John Easterling, Olivia’s husband announced the news through his account on Facebook, as thousands of tributes began pouring in for the legendary actress on her demise.
John was also seen requesting fans, followers, well-wishers, and the media to please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of the star.
“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for nearly 30 long years. She has shared her journey of breast cancer with so many people”- his statement explained.
John also spoke about how her entire journey served as a source of inspiration for so many people whose lives she touched in incredible ways. He also revealed how Olivia’s soul will live on through her Newton-John Foundation Fund which she had specifically dedicated to the purpose of researching plant medicine and cancer.
The family had requested for donations to be made to the charity organization to help support the cause, instead of sending flowers their way on the occasion of the actress’s death.
Now, Olivia is survived by her daughter Chloe Lattanzi and her siblings.
While Olivia did manage to beat her cancer illness twice in her lifetime, she reportedly was diagnosed again in the year 2017 and since then, has been having trouble recovering, explained reports from local media outlets.
