BREAKING: Police Release Photos Of A ‘Person Of Interest’ In NYC Subway Shooting


The police have shared photos of the man they have identified as a person of interest in the NYC subway shooting.

Chaos erupted at the 36th Street and Fourth Avenue station in NYC’s Sunset Park after a gunman in a gas mask deployed a gas canister before opening fire and shooting at least 10 people at around 8.30 am on Tuesday.

As a result of the shooting, at least five commuters were rushed to the hospital in critical condition and another five were treated for minor gunshot wounds.

An additional 19 or more were left injured after panic took over the subway.

Now, the police have identified the first person of interest in connection to the shooting that shocked the nation and sparked fear among NYC commuters.

As NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig confirmed, the police are looking for 62-year-old Frank James “to determine if he has any connection” to the shooting.

“Mr. James is just a person of interest we know right now who rented that U-Haul van in Philadelphia,” Essig said.

According to the police, the keys of the van James has rented in Philadelphia were found at the crime scene. While the authorities are eager to speak to the person of interest, they did not yet brand him as a suspect.

Meanwhile, NYPD Chief Keechant Sewell confirmed that the suspect’s motives remain unknown.

She also mentioned James and revealed that the person of interest had previously issued threats to NYC Mayor Eric Adams.

“This person of interest in today’s subway shooting in Brooklyn has made past comments about @NYCMayor,” the mayor’s spokesperson, Fabien Levy, said.

“Out of an abundance of caution, @NYPD will increase Mayor Adams’ security presence until this man has been questioned.”

As of this writing, James is yet to be found, whereas the authorities have asked “anyone with information on his whereabouts to call at 1-800-577-TIPS.”
