The 16-year-old Czech tennis superstar that recently qualified for the US Open is breaking her silence after an incident involving her sparked major outrage and controversy recently.
Video footage captured after Sara Bejlek’s win on the court showed her father and her coach grabbing her butt and tapping it while hugging and congratulating her. And plenty of viewers found the move very awkward and strange.
Therefore, they decided to raise their voices on the matter and asked the authorities to intervene because it was just too bizarre for them.
“She is just 16. How wrong and inappropriate is this behavior”- mentioned one viewer. This was followed up by plenty more criticism and comments on the matter. One wrote that the footage became creepier with the passing of time because there was not one person but two male members doing the same thing without any worry in the world.
First, her dad can be seen hugging and tapping her buttock and that’s followed by her coach repeating the same behavior.
Many people watching from their homes said this was nothing less than groping and was definitely sending out the wrong message. Therefore, they asked the authorities to figure out the matter as they feared for the young player.
After the incident, the Czech star was seen breaking her silence on the matter amid the huge uproar. She apologized and promised that nothing of the sort would happen again. At the same time, she shocked so many people when she mentioned how such behavior was very normal and acceptable in her nation.
Therefore, she told people not to worry too much and focus on her performance in the next round.
