It is not clear why but the group’s attempt to film and take pictures may be connected to the January 6 hearings.

Others who have been arrested are David Feldman, Allison Martinez, Nicoletta Green, Jake Plunkett, Josh Comers, Stephen Romond, Brendan Hurley, and Tyrone Dean.

A spokesperson for CBS told Daily Mail that the group were detained after their final interview as they stayed behind to film ‘comedy elements in the halls.’

The spokesman also said that the interviews were authorized and arranged with the help of congressional aides and that they were filming on June 15 and 16.

According to Fox News Jesse Watters, members of the team managed to gain access to the building from Democratic congressmen Rep. Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts and Rep. Adam Schiff of California.

Rep. Rodney Davis  of Illinois appeared on Watters’ show and said that the group were banging on the doors of fellow Republicans Rep. Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Jim Jordan.

“We just found out about the arrest today, and I’m going to make sure when we get back to Washington next week, we are going to ask the questions that need to be asked,” Davis told Watters.
