The mother of Nick and Aaron Carter, the latter of whom was found dead in November 2022, has been arrested in Florida after an alleged domestic disturbance.
Jane Schneck was reportedly drinking with a family member and got into an argument that turned violent, according to TMZ.
A police report revealed that she increased the volume of the TV so loudly that her husband could not sleep, and the two had a physical argument over the remote.
When her husband tried to record the incident on his phone, Schneck allegedly grabbed his wrist.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested Schneck for battery after viewing the video. She was released from police custody only hours later.
This came months after she lost her son to an overdose.
Carter was found dead in a bathtub in his California home in November. It was concluded that the singer had died from drowning after taking alprazolam (Xanax) and inhaled compressed difluoreathane.
According to the report, he became “incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects” of the substances.
His tragic death was officially ruled accidental.
Earlier this year, Schneck had called for her son’s death to be ruled a homicide, sharing photos of the bathroom where her son was found dead.
“Still trying to get a real investigation for the death of my son Aaron Carter,” she wrote on Facebook.
“I want to share these death scene photos with you all because the coroner wrote it off as an accidental drug overdose. They never investigated it as a possible crime scene because of his addiction past.”
Carter’s fiancée, Melanie Martin – also the mother of his son Prince – said to TMZ after the cause of death was released: “The results of the autopsy are not closure for me. It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which doesn’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?
“I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions.”
