Super Bowl Champion And Ex-NFL Star Demaryius Thomas Found Dead At His Home After Collapsing While Taking A Shower


Super Bowl legend Demaryius Thomas was found dead at his Georgia home at the age of 33.

As Officer Tim Lupo of the Roswell Police Department revealed, the former NFL star, who racked up five consecutive Pro Bowls selections, was discovered dead at his Atlanta home on Thursday night.

According to the preliminary reports, no foul play is suspected, whereas it is believed that the football player died in the shower after suffering a seizure and collapsing.

“Preliminary information is that his death stems from a medical issue, and our investigators currently have no reason to believe otherwise,” Lupo revealed.

After the young athlete was found dead in the shower of his home, one of his family members also spoke out and claimed the 33-year-old had been suffering from seizures for more than a year.

“He had been suffering from seizures for over a year, and we believe he had a seizure when he was showering,” cousin LaTonya Bonseigneur said.

“We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him yesterday.

“He was alone and a friend couldn’t get hold of him, so he called his driver, who has a key because of these seizures, and he went into his home and found him in the shower.”

Over his 10-year football career, Thomas secured 63 receiving touchdowns and 724 receptions over 9,763 receiving yards.

Following the Super Bowl champion’s passing, the NFL and fellow athletes paid touching tributes to Thomas who was dubbed “one of the greatest players in franchise history” by the Broncos.

“I’m so sad to wake up this morning to hear about the passing of my friend Demariyus Thomas. We were all blessed with his humility and positive spirit, and we will all miss him,” Tom Brady wrote.

“Heartbroken #RIP Young Legend. Demaryius Thomas #88,” Russell Wilson of Seattle Seahawks added as he shared a photo of Thomas playing for the Broncos.

The NFL issued a statement that read: “The NFL family mourns the tragic loss of Demaryius Thomas and we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.”
