A woman who had been looking forward to spending the night with the love of her life was found dead in a hotel room in Fiji while on their honeymoon.
39-year-old Christe Chen Dawson had been ‘excited to get married and have babies,’ her shocked friends told Daily Mail.
Her body was found in a hotel room on Yasawa Islands on July 9.
It is not clear how she died but reports said that her husband Bradley Robert Dawson, 38, disappeared after the body was found.
He has since been charged with murder and is now being held in custody.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Chiste’s friends said the newlywed had been enjoying her wedding in February. “I am in shock. I just texted all my friends and my husband telling them I hope it’s not real but my husband told me it is real,” Rena Schomburg said.
“She was so excited to get married and to have babies.”
Schomburg said that the couple met in 2015 when they were planning a bachelorette party for a mutual friend.
She said that Christe ran a bakery in Colorado and that the pair were fans of the Chicago Cubs.
The 39-year-old wanted to go to pharmacy school so she moved to Tennessee and attended The University of Tennessee. She was working as a pharmacist before her tragic death.
“It’s so sad,” Schomburg expressed.
Schomburg described her friend as “super-sweet, kind, would do anything for anybody, outgoing, generous, and so fun.”
“She didn’t have a bad bone in her body,” she added.
Another friend, Matt Koenig, said that Christe was “caring, fun, generous, the kind of person who can make friends with anyone. It’s a hard day.”
Before Christe’s death, she told a neighbor how excited she was to spend her honeymoon in Fiji.
Her body was later found inside a hotel room on Yasawa Islands, known for its crystal blue-green waters, pristine beaches, remote setting, palm trees, and lush vegetation.
