BREAKING: First Victim Of Nepal Plane Crash Is Identified As 33-Year-Old Travel Blogger


At least 68 people, including 15 foreigners, are presumed dead after a plane carrying 72 people plummeted to the ground in Nepal.

The tragic event, which marks the biggest plane crash in the Himalayan country in the last five years, took place on Sunday near the resort city of Pokhara while the aircraft was traveling from the capital of Kathmandu.

The authorities have confirmed that the plane crashed into a gorge between two hills and that rescue operations are underway.

One of the victims has since been identified as a 33-year-old travel blogger Elena Banduro from Russia.

Moments before the aircraft nose-dived into the ground, Elena shared a selfie captioned ‘Go To Nepal’ on her Instagram account.

Three other Russian tourists who died on the plane were named as Yuri Lugin, Viktoria Altunina, and Viktor Lagin.

Elena’s social media accounts have since the tragic news been flooded with condolences and tributes to the “brightest, kindest soul we knew.”

It was reported that the 33-year-old was a passionate blogger and social media manager who traveled extensively and lived her life to the fullest.

The news comes shortly after several locals recalled the horrific moment the forsaken plane came crashing down.

“I saw the plane trembling, moving left and right, and then suddenly its nose dived and it went into the gorge,” Khum Bahadur Chhetri told REUTERS.

“Half of the plane is on the hillside. The other half has fallen into the gorge of the Seti river,” Arun Tamu added.

The authorities also confirmed that 15 of the victims are foreigners from Russia, India, South Korea, Australia, Ireland, France, and Argentina.
