A beloved MTV producer died tragically at the age of 28 just weeks after he and his wife tied the knot.
Jared March, the mastermind behind the MTV reality competition The Challenge, has passed away on January 27 after a two-and-a-half-year battle with soft-tissue sarcoma.
Just weeks before his premature death, the producer married his wife Brittany in an intimate ceremony in Fort Lauderdale, Florida – a decision that Brittany has labeled as spontaneous.
In his final moments, Jared managed to raise $300,000 for fellow cancer patients, with The Challenge showrunners dedicating the latest episode to the young man while branding him as the show’s ultimate champion.
Shortly after Jared was diagnosed with cancer, he underwent chemotherapy and set up the Team Jared Foundation for other cancer patients.
The funds collected have helped patients and their families with ‘nonmedical’ expenses including rent payments, childcare, transportation, eldercare, and housing.
In addition to the foundation, the 28-year-old wanted to create characters to symbolize his ‘perspective on life and his approach to his battle with cancer,’ his website stated.
Jared then added elephant and tiger characters to his products such as hats and t-shirts.
According to his website, the tiger symbolizes curiosity, confidence, and immortality.
“I’ve adopted this time frame of thinking as I navigate the next phase of my life. While I am not sure what lies ahead, I am certain that I will be living life with the Tiger Mentality, searching for moments,” he said on the website.
His last posts on social media were photos of his mother to celebrate her birthday.
“Thanks for being that all knowing, all caring human that I’m fortunate enough to get to call Mom,” he captioned his post.
His devastated wife’s last social media post was shortly after their wedding. “Started the year a Greene, ending the year a March. 12.30.23,” she wrote.
“We are still so excited for our big celebration later in 2024, but we didn’t want to wait to start this next phase of our lives together.”
