According to reports, Tasha Haefs called 911 and told the dispatcher that the devil was trying to attack her.

Police arrived at her home in Kansas City and found blood on the front steps and heard the mother singing.

Haefs refused to open the door and the louder the police knocked, the louder she sang.

One of the officers looked through a window and saw a decapitated head. That’s when police forced their way inside and found Haefs with blood on her feet and legs.

“The female suspect had apparent blood on her person and two knives with apparent blood on them were observed in plain view throughout the residence,” the criminal complaint stated.

“My office, as it always has, pledges to do everything in its power to bring justice in this young boy’s murder. We will not shrink from our responsibility.

“It’s difficult to imagine the grief for this boy’s family. For the child’s classmates. His friends. Neighbors. The first responders who went to this crime scene. I expect it leaves us not knowing what to do.”

She added: “We might look at our loved ones today and give some thanks to God or even say a prayer. Thank you, my child is safe today. But we want everyone’s children to be safe.”
