A mother killed her two baby daughters by exposing them to powerful drugs because she didn’t want them to live in a ‘corrupt’ world.
27-year-old Tiffany Stevens was found dead from an overdose alongside her daughters, aged 18 months and 3 years, whom she forced to consume “massive amounts” of methadone.
Methadone is a powerful opioid that is used in chronic pain management and drug addiction treatment.
As it was discovered after the children were found dead at their Bolton home in England, the toddlers and their mom overdosed on the drug.
It was since the 2019 incident also confirmed that Stevens injected her daughters in the abdomen with insulin and methadone.
Inside the family home, the detectives also found Tramadol and morphine, Bolton Coroners Court heard.
Alongside the bodies and drugs, the police also discovered a note left behind by Stevens. In the short message, the mother insisted that she did what was in her daughters’ “best interests.”
As the inquest continues, the court heard how the police arrived at Stevens’ home after her family members expressed concerns over the children’s wellbeing.
When the police entered the home, they came across Stevens and her children who were lying on a mattress in the living room.
It is believed that the mother and her children were dead for about a week before they were found.
