A mother was killed alongside her children by Russian bombs during a ‘ceasefire’ while they were desperately trying to flee the city of Irpin, Ukraine.
Tatyana Perebeynos and her son Nikita, 18, and daughter Alise, 9, were all killed after they came under fire from a barrage of mortar shells.
The incident sent shockwaves across the globe as it became evident that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ‘humanitarian corridors’ were just a sham.
According to reports, the family moved to the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital years ago and they planned to renovate their ‘forever home.’
Ms. Perebeynos, the head of accounting at SE Ranking, was a beloved colleague who had a ‘great sense of humor.’
Her friends paid heartfelt tributes to her, with one describing her as ‘bright, witty, determined. She was like a big sister to our whole team.’
One coworker also said: “You could always come to her with the most stupid questions about taxes, international payments, or anything else.
“She always patiently answered, laying all the options out on the table.”
The family had not been able to run away earlier as they were taking care of her mother who was ill.
Their lives tragically ended when Russian artillery rained down on them.
Her grieving husband has been left with the task of burying her and their children after the ‘barbaric’ attack.
Colleagues and friends alike were left shocked and grieving after hearing the news of Ms. Perebeynos’ death.
“In the most difficult moments… when a shell destroyed their apartment, when they had to sleep in the basement – she did not lose her fortitude and her unwavering sense of humour, keeping up the spirits of everyone around her,” the Telegraph reported.
“Our hearts are broken. ‘There are no words to describe our grief or to mend our pain. But for us, it is crucial to not let Tatyana and her kids Alise and Nikita become nothing but statistics,” a company spokesman said.
“The family was trying to evacuate from Irpin – a small city right near Kyiv that has been left without water supply, electricity, and heating.
“We feel completely helpless but we are trying, at least with some small things, to help him survive the horror of these days.
“Just three days before the war, we were in Georgia, making plans for the future and now we are writing an obituary for our Tatyana and her children. There is no explanation, the unthinkable has happened.”
A heart-wrenching video taken in Irpin confirmed that Russian troops attacked the heavily populated city as Putin continued to deny bombing cities in Ukraine.
