A jealous mother has been blocked from contacting her adult son after physically attacking him when he moved in with his girlfriend.

While some parents can’t wait for their children to leave their nest, nothing could hurt 57-year-old Pauline Randles from Neston, England, more than her son, Simon, leaving her to live with his girlfriend.

According to the reports, the possessive mom launched a campaign of harassment against her policeman son, who is in his 30s, and his girlfriend after the two announced their plans to live together.

One thing led to another and Randles found herself banned from contacting her son for 18 months after punching him in the face and accusing his girlfriend, Lauren Stocker, of stealing her son from her.

“If I see Lauren I will kill her,” the mother allegedly told her son during the confrontation while blocking Stocker’s car from leaving her house.

In the weeks that followed, the mother went on to “emotionally abuse” her son by saying she wished she had aborted him and threatening him with suicide.

As the young man claimed in his statement, he had to be admitted to the hospital after suffering severe stress and anxiety because of his mother’s harassment.

After being brought to Warrington Magistrates’ Court, Ms. Randles pleaded guilty to assault, harassment, and criminal damage.

She was handed a one-year community order and told not to contact her son for 18 months. She was also ordered to pay a fine of $150.

“The defendant started threatening him that she would take an overdose if he didn’t attend to her needs immediately,” prosecutor Ashleigh Simpson told the court.

“She did take some tablets and was taken to hospital for checks but was released the same day. The complainant says that the defendant did not like the fact that he was in a relationship. She stated numerous times that his girlfriend had taken him away from her and her behavior was escalating all the time.

“When he was out with his girlfriend, the defendant would make out she was going to kill herself. On one occasion she showed pictures of a kitchen knife on a step with a message saying: ‘I will kill myself with this.’”

Simpson added: “The son was constantly receiving text messages from his mother, which included: ‘I wish you were dead,’ ‘I wish you were aborted,’ and ‘I wish you were sacked from your job.’”

Meanwhile, Randles’ defense argued that the mother was struggling to adjust to her son’s new relationship and started feeling depressed and isolated.

“Mrs Randles has been struggling in the recent period with her son’s new relationship. He was a big support for his mother but he ultimately left the home address and she had difficulty coming to terms with that,” defense attorney Howard Jones said.

“She obviously felt very isolated and would say that the new girlfriend was preventing him going around and helping with anything. She was getting more isolated and depressed and was drinking.”
