A young and aspiring model has suddenly passed away after all her signs and symptoms were dismissed by doctors.
According to local media reports, Porsche McGregor complained for days about her pain and bleeding that took place on a continual basis. But doctors overlooked the fact that she could possibly have cervical cancer as they felt she was too young.
While some put down her symptoms to hormones, others continued to test her for COVID but no one could really figure out what was the matter.
An inquest has heard how the young model had the aggressive form of the illness that had reportedly been undiagnosed for months, despite her constant complaints of pain and bleeding to paramedics.
In December of 2019, the 27-year-old went to her GP and complained of severe abdominal pain and on that note, she was then referred to a consultant. Moreover, the consultant termed the condition to be related to her hormones and for that reason, failed to conduct a proper vaginal inspection and didn’t even deem it necessary to refer her for further tests.
“There seemed to be no benefit of carrying out any physical examination,” the doctor went on to mention. However, he did mention how he may have conducted one if he had a chaperone alongside him.
In 2020, the model went back to her physicians as she felt a shortness of breath and underwent two phone consultations where she was reportedly provided with antibiotics.
Suddenly, her symptoms began to worsen and her GP felt that she may have contracted COVID. But when her tests came out clear, doctors just couldn’t understand what the matter was all about.
In April of 2020, she was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital and that’s where she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Unfortunately, it was just too late and she passed away one day later.
