A woman who was on the plane that crash-landed at Miami Airport has recalled the harrowing ordeal that left her scared for her life.
On Tuesday evening, a Dominican airplane belonging to the Red Air fleet crash-landed at Miami Airport and slammed into a communications tower before bursting into flames.
According to the early reports, the accident occurred after the aircraft’s landing gear had collapsed.
At the time of the incident, 126 passengers and 11 crew members were on board. There are no known casualties and three people were rushed to the hospital for treatment after the crash.
Now, passengers of the forsaken flight have opened up and recalled the terrifying moment they thought the plane was going to explode and kill them all.
“We were bumping like side to side and all the windows like, break,” Paola Garcia said in an interview with Wesh 2.
“Everything’s fine and then people start running and running and running. And I like jump and I start running because it was fire and all that, and I thought it was going to explode.”
Garcia told the news outlet that she escaped the plane as fast as she could because she thought she was going to die.
Meanwhile, passenger Yamil Elneser spoke to CBS News to recall the events that led to the plane bursting into flames.
“The wheel on the left side, it blow away, and we felt like the airplane go to the left and it started shaking very, very hard and then the airplane went off the runway and we saw the flames,” Elneser said.
Speaking out about the harrowing incident was also Balo Delgado who said “panic” erupted on the plane during the “terrible” experience.
“Panic, almost panic. it was a terrible experience, actually, but like I said I feel safe. It happened like one minute and then you could see all the officers through the window doing their jobs,” he told CBS Miami.
As of this writing, the crash-landing remains under investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration has since confirmed that an issue with the plane’s landing gear had caused the accident.
