Meghan Markle has come under fire after an explosive new interview in which she once again took a jab at the Royal Family.

In her in-depth interview with The Cut, the Duchess of Sussex touched down on several topics of discussion and hinted at a return to Instagram after previously claiming she wanted a private life.

While the majority of the interview was dedicated to Meghan’s new life in Montecito, California, and her growing family, the duchess once again managed to spark a heated debate with her comments.

Among her most controversial statements is that in which the 41-year-old seemingly compared herself to Nelson Mandela as she claimed people “rejoiced in the streets” when she entered the Royal Family by marrying Prince Harry.

Meghan insisted that she learned of people’s alleged happiness over her marriage in July 2019 when a South African cast member of Disney’s remake of the Lion King pulled her aside to talk to her.

“He looked at me, and he’s just like light. He said, ‘I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison,’” she claimed.

Interviewer Allison P. Davies then quickly pitched in to explain that Meghan understands “she’s no Mandela.”

“Of course, she knows she’s no Mandela, but perhaps even telling me this story is a mode of defense, because if you are a symbol for all that is good and charitable, how can anybody find you objectionable, how can anybody hate you?” she said.

“She understands what her ascent meant to Black Britons, for whom she’s a sign of progress, and to women, for whom she’s a working mom and a signal boost to the issues that affect them (paid parental leave, equal pay).”

Among other controversial statements made in The Cut interview, Meghan also said she went from autonomy to “a different life” when she joined the Royal Family in the UK.

She particularly took issue with pictures of her son, Archie, as she claimed she wasn’t allowed to share the boy’s photos on the royal Instagram account @KensingtonRoyal without informing the UK media pool first.

“There’s literally a structure by which if you want to release photos of your child, as a member of the family, you first have to give them to the Royal Rota,” she said before making a strong and shocking allegation saying her son was called the N-word.

“Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the n-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?”
