22-year-old Nikki Huang and Jesse Parrilla were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at the Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course after getting kidnapped in the Bronx, New York City, on Sunday.

The police confirmed the pair were found in a burning car. While the double murder remains under investigation, the authorities believe that Huang and Parrilla got caught up in a gang war after the girl told her gangster friends that members of a rival gang stole her purse.

The police also believe that Parrilla had no involvement in either of the gangs and that he was simply giving his friend from middle school a ride when she was targeted by members of her friends’ rival gang.

“He was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” one cop said of the young man who aspired to become an NBA player.

It is further believed that the gang war between Lower East Side’s ‘Up The Hill Gang’ and Alphabet City’s ‘Down The Hill Gang’ was sparked as a result of Huang getting robbed on Sunday.

After the mugging – during which her purse, cash, and credit cards were stolen – Huang allegedly told her ‘Up The Hill’ pals that the rival faction was responsible for the robbery instead of going to the police.

Following her allegations, several shootings broke out in the area. Just after 11 pm on Sunday, Brandon Atkinson, a member of ‘Down The Hill’, was shot dead.

In retaliation, two more men were shot in the following hours.

It is believed that members of ‘Down The Hill’ then decided to complete their ‘payback’ by kidnapping Huang and Parrilla, who was giving her a lift at the time.

“She needed a ride and she called him, but I don’t know how they ended up in the Bronx,” Parrilla’s mom, Michelle Morales, said in an interview with Daily News.

“He was home all that day, and he was supposed to meet me. He didn’t show, and I called and called but he didn’t pick up…. They shot him twice. They assassinated him.”
