A young woman broke into tears as she recalled her ex-boyfriend kidnapping her and forcefully tattooing his name on her face.
18-year-old Tayane Caldas from Brazil was on her way to school when she was approached by her ex-boyfriend, 20-year-old Gabriel Coelho, who was reportedly not happy about their break-up.
That’s when Coelho, who was in a car driven by his father, charged the girl and forced her into the car before taking her to his home.
After the trio arrived at the young man’s home, Gabriel tattooed his full name on Tayane’s face all the way from her ear to her chin.
According to the reports, the girl remained trapped at her ex’s house for several hours and endured physical and verbal abuse until she was finally rescued by her mom, Deborah Velloso, who tracked her down after she started worrying about her disappearance.
While the young girl initially used makeup to cover the tattoo and planned on going to work as usual, her mother convinced her to go to the police and file a report against Coelho.
“She told me she was screaming for help when he was tying her up. She told me, ‘Either I stopped screaming and let him do the tattoo or he was going to kill me in there,’” Velloso said.
After the police report was filed, Coelho was arrested. He remains in police custody pending investigation.
As the 20-year-old told the police during questioning, his ex-girlfriend wanted him to tattoo her. He also denied kidnapping allegations.
While Coelho is likely to do some jail time should he be found guilty of his charges, Tayane worries that he will come after her as soon as he gets out of jail.
“I am afraid of him. The law these days, everyone knows he doesn’t stay in (jail) for long, and with this whole situation, I’m afraid of him,” the teenager told TV Band Vale.
According to the reports, the 18-year-old has since begun laser treatment to have the tattoo removed from her face.
As she told G1 news outlet, she felt an immediate “sense of relief” and happiness following her first laser treatment session.
