A couple from Indonesia who went viral for their mega age gap is now making heads turn after the husband filed for divorce, after just two months of marriage.
According to local media reports, the 65-year-old man had requested the 19-year-old woman’s hand in marriage from her family. After seeing how financially stable he was, the family refused to give the decision a second thought and immediately said yes.
But little did anyone know that the couple wouldn’t even be able to make it past two months.
The couple went viral after they tied in the knot in May of this year. The huge age gap really fascinated many as did the luxury life that he bestowed on his wife, just a few days after they got married.
This included a mega dowry worth a staggering $34,000, not to mention an entire home and a private car for his wife too.
The couple even performed the holy Muslim pilgrimage called Umrah together but the marriage was too short-lived.
As of now, there are no reasons as to why the couple split up. Moreover, some reports have spoken about how the man named Haji Sondani has been feeling sick, ever since his split with his young wife, Fia Barlanti.
“Things appeared to be going so well for the couple. They were not the ideal pair to look at but whenever you met them, they had huge smiles across their faces”- revealed one person who chose to remain anonymous.
