BREAKING: Man Dies After Getting Crushed By Outdoor Urinal


A man was crushed to death by a telescopic urinal in a shocking accident in London.

The incident took place at the capital’s West End where pop-up outdoor urinals, also known as telescopic urinals, were placed to serve people in need of relieving themselves while enjoying city life at night.

On Friday afternoon, however, one such urinal located outside the Palace Theatre at Cambridge Circus was responsible for a fatality.

According to the reports, the man in question was crushed by the urinal while working on the device at around 1 pm.

Though the first responders managed to free him from the urinal, the man was later that day pronounced dead.

“We’re sorry to have to update that, despite the efforts of emergency services, the man who was critically injured in Cambridge Circus was pronounced dead at the scene,” the Metropolitan Police announced.

“His next of kin have been informed. Cordons remain in place at the location. Police were called at around 1.10 pm on Friday January 27, to a seriously injured man at Cambridge Circus, W1.

“The man is thought to have sustained crush injuries while working on a telescopic urinal at the location.”

Confirming the incident was also London Ambulance Service whose spokesperson revealed that an ambulance crew, as well as tactical response units, were sent to the scene after the accident took place.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene,” a spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, London Fire Brigade confirmed that incident with the following statement: “Firefighters were called to a person trapped on Charing Cross Road in central London.

“A man was trapped below street level underneath a hydraulic urinal. Firefighters worked with partner agencies and used a winch to free him. He was left in the care of London Ambulance Service and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“The brigade was called at 1.05 pm and the incident was over by 3.41 pm. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Soho, Euston and Dowgate fire stations were at the scene.”
