BREAKING: Hero Dad Who Died While Helping A Duck Family Cross The Road Is IDENTIFIED


The dad who lost his life in the attempt to help a duck family cross a busy road has been identified and pictured.

41-year-old Casey Rivara was a father-of-two who succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a vehicle as he aided a flock of ducks in crossing a busy highway in California on Friday evening.

The incident took place at the Park Drive and Stanford Ranch Boulevard intersection in Rocklin where Rivara stopped his car by the side of the road when he spotted a number of ducks struggling to cross the road.

After helping the birds reach the other side safely, the man was hit by a car operated by a 17-year-old female driver as his two children, aged 6 and 11, watched the incident unfold from their car.

Casey’s aunt, Tracey Rivara, has since launched a GoFundMe page to help the struggling family including the man’s widowed wife, Angel.

“His family was Casey’s world, and to remain even closer to them he had recently started working at their children’s school. He loved working at the school as he was able to positively impact other children,” she wrote in a touching tribute to the kind man.

The tragic update comes just hours after a 12-year-old witness recalled the man’s final moments.

“He got out of the car, he was shooing the ducks everyone was clapping because he was being really nice,” William Wimsatt, 12, told 3KCRA.

“He helped them get up on the curb because the baby duckies were having trouble.”

The young boy continued: “All I remember is the sound and then him flying across the intersection, his shoes and one of his socks were right in front of our car.

“He was the only person to get out of the car and try and help them and probably the nicest person in the entire area. It’s not fair.”
