One woman who made headlines after transitioning into a male is now opting to de-transition back into a female because he isn’t happy about his new identity.
As many of us may already be aware, the process of transitioning isn’t easy. From following a stringent hormone replacement therapy to waiting years until you actually get the desired results- it’s daunting, to say the least.
However, Alia Ismail who is 27 and hails from Michigan says the time has come to go back to being a female because the identity he currently possesses fails to represent who he really is.
“I just don’t feel like this is my own skin. I am so tired and although I’ve had enough of the medical transitioning process, I am going full throttle into turning back into a woman”- Alia explained.
Alia says he had just begun getting used to male pronouns and dressing in a more masculine manner. And at the young age of 18, he underwent a medical procedure too that took 8 years to complete in full.
At 27, he felt the time had come to change his name from Alia to Issa.point 169 | Let’s not forget the mastectomy procedure too that he underwent in 2016.point 236 |
But despite all of those hurdles, he says he is not happy and it isn’t worth it.point 70 | Therefore, he’s returning back to his usual female self because that’s what he thinks is the best way to move forward.point 180 | 1
“When I knew this was not for me, I stopped taking my hormones for males. I wanted to be Alia again and I was going to do everything to get that!”
Alia revealed that coming out as gay was quite normal for him, even his family didn’t object. But the entire thought related to transitioning really has his grandparents in awe and now that he’s going back to being a female, they’re not taking the news too well at all.
