One man, however, has since spoken out and suggested that the second set of remains found at the lake belongs to his father.

Todd Kolod, who now lives in Spain, says he was just three years old when his dad, Daniel Kolod, drowned in Callville Bay.

At the time of his death in 1958, Daniel was allegedly just 22 years old.

Recalling the incident, Todd said his father was having fun on a speed boat when he and his friend encountered a wake and got thrown out of the vessel.

“With each clue, I always expect in my mind that it’s going to put us farther away from our goal, but consistently each clue is putting us closer, and this is like a bullseye,” Kolod said in an interview with 8 News Now after the coroner confirmed that the second set of remains found at the lake belonged to a young adult.

Todd also said he was keen to provide a DNA sample that they could compare with the DNA samples retrieved from the body but complained it is all taking too much time.

“The pace of being contacted about a DNA sample – I’m starting to lose hope a little bit. Maybe this new finding lights something up,” he added.

“The lake has drained dramatically over the last 15 years. It’s likely that we will find additional bodies that have been dumped in Lake Mead,” Lt. Ray Spencer of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
