The 52-year-old Hawkeye star and a 2-time Oscar nominee nearly died after he was run over by his massive snowplow while helping a relative stranded in the snow near his Lake Tahoe home on January 1 this year.

After getting crushed by the massive, 14,000-pound machine, the actor was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. It was later discovered that he broke more than thirty bones and that he suffered extensive damage to his chest and limbs.

Months after the grisly incident, Renner is in full rehabilitation and relearning how to walk.

While his body can’t yet support his full weight, the actor was seen walking thanks to an anti-gravity treadmill that helps him move on his own two feet using just 40% of his body weight.

“That’s seriously cool. And you’re totally doing the walking motion,” a man told the actor during a session of physical therapy.

“Correct, exactly. It’s 40 percent of my weight,” Renner responded.

Sharing a video of his success on social media, the Hawkeye star wrote: “I now have to find OTHER things to occupy my time so my body can recover from my will. #minduful #intended #recovery.”

Previously, Renner’s doctors praised the actor for making swift progress in recovery. As ICU doctor Ron Daniels warned, however, the actor’s abilities might never be at the same level as they were before the accident.

“His ability to do stunts is, firstly, not going to return to him for many months and, secondly, he might not be quite as agile as he was previously, even if his physical exercise tolerance improves back to normal,” Daniels told DailyMail.com.
