Marvel star Jeremy Renner’s condition is reportedly “much worse” than it was previously believed.
The beloved 52-year-old Hollywood actor suffered extensive injuries when he was crushed by his snow plow while attempting to help a relative clear the path near his Lake Tahoe home.
After the Hawkeye star briefly stepped outside his snow plow, the 14,300-pound vehicle allegedly started moving and crushed the actor while he attempted to stop it.
Following his hospitalization, Renner’s family confirmed that “he is a fighter” and that he is “crushing all the progress goals.”
Now, however, Jeremy’s friends confirmed that the actor’s condition is “much worse” than originally reported and that the 52-year-old “almost died” after nearly bleeding out.
Furthermore, it is believed that it could take years for the Marvel star to recover from his orthopedic injuries and chest trauma.
“It’s much worse than anyone knows. Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there,” an insider confirmed in an interview with RadarOnline.
“The right side of Jeremy’s chest was crushed, and his upper torso had collapsed. He also had a bad head wound that was bleeding and a leg injury.”
A source added: “Jeremy was in a lot of pain, and was having difficulty breathing. He knew he was in bad shape and that he might not make it out of this.”
“Word is the damage to Jeremy’s chest was so substantial it had to be reconstructed in surgery.”
The actor so far reportedly underwent two surgeries and he will probably require more in the near future.
The news comes a week after Jeremy’s sister spoke out and told People magazine that her brother is doing okay and that the family remains positive about his recovery.
“If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn’t mess around. He is crushing all the progress goals. We couldn’t feel more positive about the road ahead,” she said.
