Jeff Bridges reportedly hired a personal trainer to help him prepare for the day he proudly walked his daughter down the aisle.

The 72-year-old The Big Lebowski star fell into a downward spiral health-wise after his 2020 cancer diagnosis and his subsequent Covid-19 diagnosis.

As the actor previously insisted, the combination of his sicknesses left him at “death’s door” and made him unable to stand for more than 45 seconds at a time.

Nevertheless, Bridges was not willing to sit still when he learned that his daughter, 37-year-old Hayley, was about to tie the knot in California’s Santa Ynez Valley back in August 2021.

Ahead of the big ceremony, the actor allegedly hired a trainer who helped him build the muscle and strength he needed to walk his daughter down the aisle.

While his efforts paid off, Bridges now admitted it took a lot of effort and practice to achieve his goal, whereas he trained for the event by walking down the hospital halls with his body hooked to an oxygen tank.

“The first goal was how long can I stand up, and my record was 45 seconds, that’s how long I could stand up. And then it was, how many steps can I take?” Bridges recalled in an interview with the Independent.

“One day I said, ‘Maybe I can do it, you know.’ And it turns out I not only got to walk her down the aisle, but I got to do the wedding dance.”

In his bombshell interview, the actor also recalled the time Covid “kicked his a**” and landed him in intensive care for five weeks.

Since his immune system at the time was already severely compromised due to his cancer treatment, Covid allegedly made the previous diagnosis “look like nothing.”

While the two-year death scare was not easy to overcome, Bridges admitted it had some positive points in a separate interview.

“Not all bad – [there were] wonderful parts about being that sick that were kind of unexpected, you know, feeling all that love coming towards me from my family and friends and from other people all over the world,” he told Sky News.

“That was unexpected, wonderful feeling, and then also the love that that kind of triggered for me. I said, ‘Oh yeah, this is life, this is wonderful,’ and everything became kind of hyper-precious during that time.”
