A mother has been spared jail despite being found guilty for her evil actions that caused her little child’s death.
According to local media reports, Lauren Saint George was called out by the courtroom for murdering her ten-week-old child named Lilly-Mai. The incident is believed to have taken place a short while after the child was released from the hospital, sources revealed.
Local media outlets revealed how the mother completely lost her temper in a rage and began violently shaking her baby until she was sure that it had died.
Medical experts revealed the newborn baby girl’s cause of death as infanticide where she passed away due to a serious head injury.
“It was the most violent and abusive attack against an infant that you could ever imagine”- the judge revealed in the courtroom. But despite being guilty of inflicting 18 rib fractures and causing her child serious bruising, the mother is stated to have been spared jail.
The medical reports also detailed two breaks in her leg and extensive bruising around the child’s hands, just showing how intense the entire ordeal was.
Little Lily is believed to have passed away at the Great Ormond Street Hospital on February 2. Surgeons at the medical facility were left with no choice but to turn the life support machine off as there were no signs of life.
“The brain damage was extreme and she had passed away from her mother’s evil actions”- the judge revealed.
Other reports spoke about how wary hospital staff was of handing the child over to her parents as they feared that she would be treated with neglect. Hence, they informed social services to step in and handle the matter.
Unfortunately, the social services felt the parents were fit to take care of the child, but that poor decision-making led to her death in the end.
As far as the reason for the mother being spared jail is concerned, well, the court believes she needs time off to rebuild her life, which many cannot believe.
