The husband of a pregnant woman who tragically died while traveling to celebrate Christmas with her family has also died.

It was on December 20 when Chloe and Parker Scott traveled on Highway 93 near Wickenburg, Maricopa County in Arizona to celebrate Christmas with their family.

The couple wanted to surprise their loved ones with the news of Chloe’s pregnancy but a crash happened on southbound US 93, around 60 miles northwest of Phoenix, Arizona.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a white Volvo commercial truck tractor collided with the couple’s vehicle.

Chloe and her unborn baby tragically died at the scene while Parker was left with severe injuries. He was airlifted to the Arizona Burn Center where he underwent multiple surgeries, including a leg amputation.

The devastated family just confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries on December 23, the Daily Mail reported.

In a heartbreaking tribute, the family said: “He’s the strongest person and has fought so hard. At 6.47PM, Parker grew his angel wings to fly him to Heaven to be with his sweet love Chloe and their baby.”

A social media account run by Scott’s family shared: “Early this morning, Parker went in for his third surgery to do some clean up on his burns, as well as start on some skin grafting for his leg.

“At the completion of the surgery, the surgeons delivered the news that Parker’s injuries were even more extensive than what we were already aware of and the outlook was extremely bleak.”

The family added: “A few hours later, we received the update that Parker’s vitals were dropping and he was going fast.

“We gather around him as a family, kissed him, hugged him, held his hand, told him just how much we loved him and how proud we were of him.”

A GoFundMe page for the couple said that they were about to announce the pregnancy news to their family when the incident occurred.

“They had just found out they were pregnant and were so excited to be parents and share the news with their loved ones over Christmas,” it read.
