The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Kristel Candelario who reportedly left the 16-month-old baby girl alone. She felt that a vacation of 10 days outside her home would not have any drastic effects on the child, and that has loved ones and authorities questioning her mental well-being.

The mother from Ohio is now facing serious allegations of neglect after her child passed away on June 18. It was horrifying and tragic at the same time for the authorities to find her alone in this deprived situation.

Online court records claim the mother was arrested then and there when she got back from her wild travel plans. The daughter was found alone at home in an unresponsive state at her residence as boldly mentioned inside an affidavit that was released on the matter.

Speaking to investigators recently, the mother says she did indeed leave the child home alone as she felt the child would survive.

The mother reportedly traveled to Michigan and Puerto Rico as confirmed in the affidavit. When she got back, she found the child to be in a state of extreme dehydration.

It was clear that she had been neglected so badly and it was heartbreaking for other people to see this.

Even the little baby’s playpen had been soiled with urine and feces. It was so tragic to see a girl so young being left to die in this manner, added the chief investigator.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of the crime and they reported her dead, there and then. There were no signs of trauma observed on the child, they concluded in their analysis report.
