“Mom I’m Scared, Let’s Hide”- 5-Year-Old Deaf Girl’s Plea For Help As Sirens Go Off In Ukraine


The horrifying effects of the Russian war against Ukraine continue and this next story about a young deaf girl is sure to break your heart.

The 5-year-old and her mother are citizens who have been stranded in the country for so long due to the ongoing conflict.

Now, the mom explains they’re desperately waiting for their UK visa and other travel documents so they can leave Ukraine as it’s been too much for her little one to bear.

Little Alisa lives in fear each day as the loud sounds of blasting sirens fill the air. Since she was born deaf, she is forced to wear cochlear implants and they’re extremely sensitive, leaving the 5-year-old with no choice but to run to her mom and cry in fear.

“Mom come on, let’s hide”- she cries, and now living with the sounds has turned into a norm since the month of February.

While Alisa’s visa did come in the mail yesterday, the duo is still waiting for the mom to come and until then, they’re trying to survive the heavy military strikes being aimed at the city of Lviv on a daily basis.

“We’ve been offered by so many Ukrainian families to come and stay with them until the situation in Ukraine gets better. But we certainly don’t have an option right now. My daughter’s travel visa is here but I’m still waiting on mine”- the mother explained.

But the chilling sounds of sirens that constantly buzz in her and her daughter’s ears are a reminder that the war is very real and life is unpredictable in the war-torn nation.
