Country music singer Hank Williams Jr’s wife, Mary Jane Thomas, died only one day after she underwent liposuction and surgery to have breast implants removed.
According to TMZ, the 58-year-old former model just had surgery, including liposuction on her arms, stomach, and back, on March 21.
Her plastic surgeon found her unresponsive in her hotel room at the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa the next day, the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner stated.
Her tragic death, caused by an injury sustained while under the cosmetic procedure, has been ruled an accident.
Plastic surgeon Dr. Harold Bafitis said to investigators that the singer’s wife became unresponsive while she was sitting on a bed.
Thomas was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The tragic news of her death comes as a huge blow to Hank Jr, who has four children, two with his third wife, Mary Jane.
He and Mary first met in 1985 during his concert in Washington and tied the knot in 1990. Samuel Williams and Katherine Williams-Dunning were the products of their marriage.
In 2007, they separated but managed to reconcile in 2011.
Williams was first married to Gwen Yeargain from 1971 to 1977, and they had one son Hank William III.
The country music legend then tied the knot with Becky White in 1977 and had two children together, daughters Hilary and Holly Williams.
Holly is married to Chris Coleman and they just welcomed a baby girl named Stella June in December 2020.
Hank Jr. and Mary Jane also have three grandchildren: two by their late daughter Katie, Audrey Jane and Beau Dunnings, and also a grandson by Sam, named Tennyson.
