A groom whose wife was killed on the day they got married has recalled the moment he found out that she had tragically died.
Aric Hutchinson and Samantha Hutchinson tied the knot on April 28 in a romantic ceremony surrounded by their family and friends at Folly Beach in South Carolina.
The lovebirds were photographed smiling as they went to a golf cart to leave the reception at around 10 pm.
But what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives turned into a nightmare after the golf cart was struck by an alleged drunk driver, who has been identified as Jamie Kee Komroski, 25.
Sam died instantly and Aric was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
A GoFundMe set up for the widowed man revealed that he had brain trauma and multiple broken bones and it has reached more than $700,000.
Aric has now spoken out about the devastating incident and what happened when he found out that his wife had died.
Speaking to Good Morning America, the grieving man said: “I do remember the last thing I remember her saying was she wanted the night to never end.”
Aric then revealed that the next thing he remembered was waking up in the hospital room, asking for the love of his life.
“That’s when my mother told me there’s an incident and that Sam didn’t make it,” he recalled.
It was reported that Aric filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Komoroski and several restaurants and bars that her alcoholic beverages.
The grieving husband said he is not ready to address the alleged drunk driver.
“I can’t right now,” he expressed. “I’d like to. I mean, she stole an amazing human being that should not have been taken.”
