Approaching the police, the suspected Vietnam War veteran held a knife as he passionately challenged the police to pull their guns on him.

After he was surrounded by several officers, the emotional grandfather yelled “it didn’t take you but a few minutes” as he compared the police’s swift response to his threats to the forsaken response to the school shooter who barricaded himself inside one of the classrooms at Robb Elementary School.

“I’m gonna show you something. I got a knife. Pull your gun out! I’m not going to kill nobody! But I got a knife! Let’s see how brave y’all are with your guns,” the grandfather shouted at the police as people around him tried to calm him down.

After the heated confrontation, Mata moved towards his great-granddaughter’s memorial where he took another jab at the cops who followed him.

“My great granddaughter, I spoke to her sister and said ‘Mija, how are you?’ and she says ‘Grandpa, my sister ain’t coming back!’”

While Mata eventually calmed down and sat on a chair, he remained visibly distraught. No charges were reportedly filed against the grandfather.

The incident comes shortly after it was revealed that Ramos’ grandmother knew about her grandson’s rifle and ordered him to get rid of it shortly before the shooting.

“We heard them yelling. I asked Sally what they were fighting about this time, and she told me that her and her sister or someone had found out that Salvador had brought guns into her house. She didn’t want them there,” Rudy Martinez, a neighbor, revealed in an interview with The Daily Beast.
