A teenage boy has been arrested after carrying out an assault on a young girl in the sea.
According to local media outlets, the 18-year-old had been arrested by authorities after the 15-year-old victim accused him of r*ping her when stepped foot into the water.
Ever since then, the suspect has been released on bail but as inquiries into the case continue, the incident is being investigated as more and more people are urging authorities to take stronger measures to prevent such incidents from taking place.
The alleged assault incident is believed to have taken place in July of last year, right near the aquarium of Bournemouth.
Police hailing from Dorset shed light upon how the 18-year-old suspect had been detailed in the West Midlands after being accused of carrying out r*pe. Soon afterward, he was released but during that period, a series of inquiries were being conducted.
Detectives following the case mentioned how the girl was reportedly pulled out from the sea by the boy, after a ball that she happened to be playing landed very near to him.
The cops mentioned how the victim was in the company of her friends right before the horrifying attack took place.
When the ball landed in front of him, he told the girl that he was traveling to Birmingham and he threw the ball back toward one of her friends. But before she knew it, she had been pulled into a deeper part of the sea by him, leaving her in a state of shock and terror.
The detective for the case says that they’re still conducting the investigation and will continue to support the family and victim during this difficult period.
