13-Year-Old Girl Who Was Left Paralyzed After Being Dropped To The Ground Will Have To Learn To Walk And Talk Again


A 13-year-old British girl who suffered brain damage and was left paralyzed after being dropped to the ground by a boy will have to learn to walk and talk again.

Neeka Atkinson was having fun at the Archbishop Sentamu Academy playground when a boy known to her picked her up by her neck and slammed her to the ground head-first.

After the boy “walked away laughing,” Neeka struggled to get back to her feet and cried in agony as she made her way toward student services to call for help.

Following her hospitalization, Neeka’s doctors confirmed substantial damage to her brain and revealed that the teen was paralyzed from her waist down.

The girl’s family has now spoken out as more horrifying details about the girl’s condition emerged.

According to the family, the 13-year-old will have to learn to walk and talk from scratch.

Fortunately, however, not everything is as bad as it could be thanks to the brave girl’s resilience and determination to get better.

“She’s got that fire in her belly to fight this! My little superstar!” Neeka’s sister, Alisha Atkinson, wrote as she revealed her sister already made it out of her hospital bed for the first time since her hospitalization.

Alisha also shared a picture showing bandaged teenager looking out of her hospital window while sitting in a wheelchair.

The family also thanked Neeka’s well-wishers and supporters as they revealed the girl will be moved from Hull to Sheffield for rehabilitation once she is stable.

“I’ve let her know of all your support and kindness and her face lit up, she’s a little fighter!” Alisha added.

Following the boy’s attack on the girl, the teenager was arrested and interviewed by police. He was later released on bail pending investigation.

Meanwhile, Neeka’s family already managed to raise nearly $13,000 for the girl’s recovery on GoFundMe.
