JUST IN: Schoolgirl, 13, Is Killed After Poking Her Head Out Of A Moving Bus


A schoolgirl was killed in a tragic accident after poking her head out of a moving bus.

13-year-old Fernanda Pacheco from Nova Friburgo, Brazil, was riding a bus on her way home from school when she opened the window next to her seat to take a peek at the surroundings and wave at her friends.

According to the reports, the bus was moving along a narrow two-way street at the time and the vehicle was forced to swerve suddenly to avoid cars parked at the side of the road.

As the bus swerved to the side, Fernanda’s head struck a metal pole causing serious physical trauma resulting in instant death.

After being declared dead on the scene, the young girl was laid to rest in a private ceremony held by her family and loved ones.

“The Secretary of State for Education deeply regrets the accident that occurred with a student from the Professor Carlos Côrtes State School, in the Catarcione neighborhood, in Nova Friburgo, on Wednesday, during her trip back home,” the Rio de Janeiro Ministry of Education wrote in a statement announcing the teen’s death.

Meanwhile, the bus operator shared: “We deeply regret the unexpected and tragic situation, reiterating that all the company’s support teams are mobilized and committed to minimizing the inevitable inconvenience.”

As of this writing, no foul play is suspected and the girl’s death is presumed accidental. It is not clear if the driver of the bus will face any charges over the incident.
