Best Friends Who Exchanged Love Letters Before They Were Killed In Texas School Shooting Are Set To Be Buried Next To Each Other


Two best friends who were killed in the Texas school shooting are set to be buried next to each other.

Xavier James Lopez and Annabell Guadalupe Rodriguez, both 10 years old, are among the 19 children who were killed by 18-year-old Salvador Ramos when he opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

The parents of the two youngsters have now revealed that Annabell and Xavier were the best of friends which is why they decided to bury them next to each other.

Monica Gallegos, Annabell’s mother, told ABC News how the two kids had gotten very close after starting fourth grade.

They would soon become the best of friends who played tag and met on weekends for barbecues and playtime.

As Xavier’s mom, Felicha Martinez, also revealed, the pair began exchanging love letters and texting each other ‘I love you’ before going to sleep.

“Me and Felicha would laugh, like, ‘How do y’all know about love?’” Gallegos said.

Meanwhile, the children’s teacher, Arnulfo Reyes, confirmed that the two students were head over heels in love with each other.

“He would make things for her, he would write notes for her,” Reyes, who was injured in the shooting, told ABC News. “It brings a smile to your face just to think they really loved each other.”

Not only were Annabell and Xavier the best of friends but they were also honor roll students who proudly posed for a photo side by side on the morning of the shooting.

They are set to be buried next to each other at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde.
