According to local media outlets, the explosion took place after a giant suspicious-looking vehicle had been reported to the cops who remained on high alert on the third day of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The news sent hundreds of loyal fans, followers, and tourists into a state of complete and utter panic as chaos ruled the day after the sounds of the giant explosion.
Witnesses present at the scene described the horror of the sounds which they believe was the loudest form of thunder that they had ever come across in their lives.
Police soon arrived at the scene of the incident, immediately evacuating the area, sending an aura of frenzy in the city.
The incident took place at about 9 am in the morning when the Metropolitan police had received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle arriving in the square. This particular report came in by The Sun.
Cops soon sent out a Tweet through their official account on social media that confirmed the mighty blast and said that the relevant authorities had managed to evacuate the area in time and are now busy investigating the matter.
They have also gone on to state how they do not have any other fears or threats that could be on the rise but they are continuing to remain alert during the public occasion that honors the Queen.
The tweet also revealed how the incident was not believed to be related to terrorism but no other specifications or details were added in that particular report too.
Sources also revealed how a concert had been scheduled right outside the Buckingham Palace, which was just a short distance away from where the blast had taken place during the morning hours of Saturday.
