Ellen DeGeneres has spoken out after her ex Anne Heche got involved in a car accident that left her in a coma.
The 64-year-old host was seen with a friend at True Lune restart in Santa Barbara, California, where she sent well wishes to her ex.
In a Daily Mail video, a cameraman asked Ellen if she has spoken to Anne.
“No,” Ellen replied. “I have not. We’re not in touch with each other so I wouldn’t know.”
The cameraman then asked: “Do you wanna send her any well wishes?” to which Ellen responded: “Sure. I don’t want anyone to be hurt.”
This comes as a spokesperson for the Hollywood star explained that the actress had slipped into a coma.
“Despite previous reports that Heche was stable, shortly after the accident, (she) became unconscious, slipping into a coma and is in critical condition,” the spokesperson told PA news agency.
But in a recent statement by Anne’s family, they revealed that the actress is “not expected to survive” the crash.
“Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive,” her family announced.
The family also thanked the “dedicated staff and wonderful nurses” at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital who had taken care of the actress.
They also revealed that there are plans to possibly donate Anne’s organs.
The crash happened on August 5 morning. Anne was seen driving at high speed in a residential area in the Mar Vista neighborhood when she crashed her vehicle twice – first into an apartment building and then second into another property, causing significant damage.
Anne is known for her roles in hit movies such as Cedar Rapids, Psycho remake, and Donnie Brasco.
