BREAKING: Little Girl Found Protecting Baby Brother While Buried Under Rubble For 36 Hours After Earthquake In Syria


A young girl was found clutching her baby brother while buried underneath the rubble following a massive quake.

The 7.8-magnitude Turkey-Syria earthquake on February 6 has left at least 15,300 people dead and at least 298,000 displaced according to the latest reports.

As rescue operations across Syria and Turkey continue, rescuers have come across a young child who was protecting her baby brother for 36 hours while trapped under their crushed home.

The 7-year-old girl named Mariam was found alongside her younger brother, Ilaaf, under tons of rubble in Besnaya-Bseineh near Syria’s border with Turkey.

“Sir, if you rescue me and my brother, I’ll do whatever you want. But get us out of here,” the distraught girl told the rescuer who spotted the siblings under a large slab.

Fortunately, both children were rescued and later pictured resting on a bed. The crew also rescued the children’s father, Mustafa Zuhir Al-Sayed, and mother along with another sibling.

“Rubble began falling over our head and we stayed two days under the rubble,” Al-Sayed said as he recalled the horrible experience.

The footage showing the rescue of the two children has since taken over social media with thousands of people joining the efforts to save as many people as possible.

“Beautiful. God will give her a lot of life to continue taking care of her brother, she is an angel sent by God,” one shaken user wrote.

“How she’s protecting the boy’s head. Wonder how many thousands were or still are in similar situations? Horrific,” another said.

A third remarked: “The good news is that they have been rescued and they are free to live. I pray their family members are also alive so they can live happily together.”
