They say you’re blessed to have great neighbors but did you ever wonder what happens when the opposite scenario takes place?
Well, this is the story of a man who says he was forced to endure the most horrendous death threats from his own neighbors after he opted to paint his own home in rainbow hues.
Mykey O’Halloran who works as a hairdresser says creativity and color run in his blood and that’s exactly why he opted to paint his home in hues that best described his own personality but little did he know about the shocking and vile response he would get from his own neighbors.
Mykey says he received some of the worst death threats imaginable after his neighbors opposed his property’s new color scheme.
“This was my dream beachside home and that meant I had every right in the world to paint it in colors that I felt were best suited for me. But the news didn’t go down well with those that live right opposite me. They had a major issue it really scared the living daylights out of me”- the hairdresser who hails from Australia mentioned.
At first, he assumed he would be receiving a welcoming response but the opposite was true in this case because all he got in return were death threats, in case he failed to change it back to a color scheme that they found to be more appropriate to look at.
With a good 600,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 153,000 fans on his Instagram, he was amazed at the amount of love and support he received from the community as a whole who stood by his side during this shocking period.
“Five men showed up in my garden after learning about my desire to paint my home in rainbow colors. They advised me against or else they told me I would face the consequences of being killed. But that’s when the entire community came forward and began supporting me by helping me paint my home”- he explained.
