JUST IN: Dave Chappelle Says He Feels Good About His Friends Breaking The Arm Of His Attacker On Stage


Dave Chappelle reportedly admitted to feeling good about his friends breaking the arm of his attacker.

On Tuesday, 23-year-old Isaiah Lee stormed the stage during Dave Chappelle’s Hollywood Bowl show and attacked the stand-up comedian with a fake gun and knife.

Following the bizarre and unexpected attack, the security personnel – alongside friends of Chappelle according to the comedian – subdued Lee and broke his arm in the process.

It has now come to light that Chappelle praised the men who stepped in to help and applauded them for breaking his attacker’s arm during the ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ Festival’s afterparty.

“I felt good. My friends broke his arm. I felt good. How bad does a n***** have to be that Joe Stewart would stomp him! … I’m very proud of [inaudible],” the comedian allegedly said in a recording captured at the afterparty.

As of this writing, it is not clear whether Stewart actually participated in arresting Lee during his on-stage attack.

“I couldn’t believe that they were my friends because it’s is good and what they do get out.  It’s all a luminary right now, you should listen,” Chappelle said, crediting his comrades for standing up for him.

It has since the shocking attack also come to light that Lee has been charged with four misdemeanors including battery, possession of a weapon with intent to assault, commission of an act that delays an event or interferes with a performer, and unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance

“This alleged attack has got to have consequences,” Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer said.

Meanwhile, however, the District Attorney’s Office confirmed it would not be pressing felony charges against Chappelle’s attacker.

“After reviewing the evidence, prosecutors determined that while criminal conduct occurred, the evidence as presented did not constitute felony conduct,” spokesperson Greg Risling told CNN.
