Country singer Luke Bell was found dead more than a week after he went missing.
The 32-year-old country star, who suffered from bipolar disorder, was reported missing after last being spotted in Tucson, Arizona, on August 20.
On August 29, more than a week after he was last seen alive and well, the ‘Where Ya Been?’ hitmaker was found dead in Tucson.
As of this writing, the investigation into the young man’s death remains ongoing and the local coroner’s office is yet to confirm the official cause of death.
Meanwhile, however, Bell’s friend and fellow musician, Matt Kinman, suggested that a change in the singer’s bipolar disorder might have played a role in his death.
“We came down here to Arizona, to work down here, play some music, and he just took off,” Kinman, who last saw Bell on August 20 after they arrived in Tucson together, recalled.
“He was in the back of the truck. I went in to get something to eat. I came out, and he’d got out of the truck and left.”
Kinman went on to say that the 32-year-old recently changed the medication he used to manage his bipolar disorder.
Bell was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and raised in Cody, Wyoming, before moving to Laramie, Wyoming, to study.
While in college, the aspiring musician often performed for a local bar band before a chance meeting with songwriter and singer Pat Reedy inspired him to move to Austin, Texas, to pursue his career in music.
After honing his skills at Austin’s Hole in the Wall bar, Bell made it to Nashville where he released his debut album in 2012.
He later released two more albums in 2014 and 2016 – the same year he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
His condition, however, didn’t stop him from performing, whereas the singer took to the stage at Equiblues Festival in France in 2017.
In 2021, he also released ‘Jealous Guy,’ his final single.
