Among other prominent roles, Camden appeared in a number of Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes in which he portrayed some of the nastiest monsters the show had to offer.

As his co-star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, previously admitted, she hadn’t even known what the actor looks like until she saw a photo of him because he was always wearing makeup and prosthetics that altered his appearance completely.

The passing was announced by Camden’s partner, Bethany Henderson, who revealed the actor had been battling pancreatic cancer for two years.

“For many reasons we were very hopeful for, at least, a longer and more fruitful time on planet Earth,” she expressed.

“Even the more recent challenges felt more like a hiccup in progress. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ve reached the end of the road with the doctor’s treatment.”

Henderson continued: “His condition has declined a lot in the last 2 months and tremendously in the last several days. So, unfortunately, this may be new and shocking news to many of his fans. We both apologize for this and please know that he has appreciated you all so much, as have I!”

As the grieving woman added, there were “many reasons” why the actor chose not to open up about his diagnosis to the public.
