On Saturday, 18-year-old Payton Gendron pulled up outside the Tops Friendly Grocery in Buffalo and started shooting at people.

Among the ten victims who lost their lives in the mass shooting that rocked the nation was 72-year-old Katherine Massey who was shot in the head by the teenage gunman.

Katherine’s heartbroken sister, Barbara Massey, has since spoken out and demanded the killer be jailed for 80 years and placed next to a black inmate for the rest of his life.

“At first I wanted to kill him, to choke him out then bring him back and choke him out again. But that’s not me,” the grieving sister told DailyMail.com as she choked up while recalling her sister’s death.

“I thought about it all night and I would like him to be in there for 70, 80 years. I want him to wake up every day with a black person or a Jewish person there next to him and have to deal with that.”

She added: “These are your neighbors for the rest of your freaking life. You need to sit here boy. I just hope they don’t give him something to hang himself with. He shot my sister in the face, I can’t get over that.”

As the 64-year-old also revealed, Katherine was dropped off at the supermarket by her brother just moments before the shooting started.

After Barbara failed to get in contact with her sister via phone, she rushed to the crime scene and begged the police to let her look for Katherine.

“I was still holding out hope. I just kept begging the police, please let me find my sister,” she recalled.

For hours, the family had to wait while fearing the worst, whereas it wasn’t until Sunday that the death of a woman matching Barbara’s description of her sister was confirmed.

“The coroner was wonderful, she even cried. She said can you describe Kat and I said, she’s small, she black but she has blue eyes, she’s fair skinned. Her hair is mostly grey, it’s cut short. She may have a little scar under her breast. She called me back 20 minutes later, it was her,” Massey added.

The grieving sister also paid a tear-jerking tribute to her sibling in which she dubbed Katherine “the sweetest little thing” who was the glue that held the family together.

“She was very intelligent, she would write letters, she would volunteer at City Hall. She would go to the Family Dollar and buy something for everybody. She was the glue. She was everything to us. If you did something for Kat she would never forget it,” Barbara expressed.

“If I know my sister, she would have said to this guy, c’mon baby, put that gun down. That’s why I think he shot my sister. We can’t even have an open casket because he shot her in the head.”

Our thoughts are with Katherine’s family and the families of all the victims of the shooting.
